Bringing CLOUD NINE's premium brand position to life.

Redefining the brand strategy and simultaneously redeveloping the digital platform, upgrading to Shopify 2.0, for one of the UK’s best loved hair styling brands.

The challenge

Research shows CLOUD NINE has better tech than GHD and Dyson. But up until now, the messaging hasn’t reflected the premium tech story we have to tell. CLOUD NINE was also making do with a D2C Shopify site saddled with multiple plugins that were causing brand inconsistencies. None of which were saying ‘premium’.

The brief for a new site sought to solve two business problems:

  • Show CLOUD NINE is a premium brand. To increase the price point, the product story needs to be elevated and reflect ‘premium’ across all touchpoints.02

  • Switch to Shopify 2.0 to improve site performance and benefit from its ‘Customiser’ feature. To reduce reliance on dev and allow the client team to build product pages and improve brand consistency.

The solution

Our approach was built around two points – premiumisation and performance. Solving business problems through a new website and putting users at the heart of every decision. 97% of CLOUD NINE’s audience use mobile, so the site was built with mobile primarily in mind. To deliver on premium, we created beautiful, photo-realistic 3D product renders. These fed into landing experiences that elevated the product story through engaging, immersive, user-controlled pages.
